Lake of Bays
Lake of Bays Yoga has been turning cottagers and lakeside residents into avid yoga practitioners since 2009. In our studio classes on South Portage Road (15 minutes from Huntsville, 8 min from Baysville) as well as dock yoga classes at your home or cottage, we welcome students of all levels. Explore our range of offerings—from vigorous vinyasa flow to therapeutic restorative yoga—and discover how this practice can bring newfound enjoyment to what you already love about summer in Muskoka.
“A good friend of mine invited me to join her at one of Cecily’s ‘Lake of Bays’ studio classes in 2010 and I have just finished my 5th summer season with her.
Along with learning yoga poses, my goals were posture improvement and strengthening of core, shoulders and back. Cecily’s ability to fix up these weak areas and more, has given me the strength and confidence to get through everyday with ease. Her combined knowledge, professional teaching skills, and patience are top notch.”

Summer 2016 – A Note From Cecily
I hope you’ve been enjoying these glorious first days of summer. If you received my previous newsletter, you might be expecting to visit the sign-up page today to register for classes this weekend.
In the past week, however, a number of factors have led to my decision to put Lake of Bays Yoga on hiatus. As hard as it is for me to write this, there will not be classes running this summer. I don’t want to say this is the end of LOBY—who knows what the future will bring—but for now, I’m taking a break!
This year has been particularly full for me—full in many wonderful ways, but also demanding of my time and energy. When the solstice arrived this past Monday evening, the realization of how fleetingly short this season is hit me hard. This summer I’ll be simultaneously running two teacher programs in Toronto, while also embarking on the second year of my Somatraining program in Montreal and New York. As much as I would love to rekindle our incredible yoga community as planned, I’m afraid it will simply be too much for me to take on. So I have decided to see what it really feels like to have long weekends at the cottage (that are actually weekends for me too!) since my family first owned our property…I figure it’s about time.
I sincerely hope to cross paths with you throughout the season in any case. Plans are also underway for the fall retreat to take place October 21-23, 2016.
Have a wonderful summer everyone, and thank you for all of your support over all of the summers we’ve spent together on the mat!
Warmest wishes,

– Light, non-restrictive clothing, bare feet and a yoga mat will help you to experience an enjoyable, comfortable class.
– Bring along a mat, towel and water bottle.
– Since yoga generates heat and sweat, please refrain from wearing scented body products while practicing.
– New students: please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of class to leave time for registration.
– If you have any current injuries or medical conditions (joint problems, high or low blood pressure, pregnancy, recent surgery, etc.) be sure to communicate this with your teacher at the beginning of class.
